A Weekend of Impropriety and Roguery - 1/27-29/12
Join me and Roguery (Anita Anderson, Dave Bartley, Shira Kammen, and Jim Oakden) for a weekend of dance and music workshops and dance parties in the San Francisco Bay Area and North Bay.
The weekend is sponsored by the Bay Area Country Dance Society and the North Bay Country Dance Society. Separate admission for each event.
Friday January 27 in Palo Alto
Palo Alto Dance -- a dance party for all at the Masonic Temple, 461 Florence St.
8:00-10:30 pm (beginners session at 7:30 pm). $12 ($10 BACDS members).
A wide range of material, including a few dances from Impropriety volumes.

Saturday January 28 in Berkeley
All Saturday dance workshops and the Saturday evening dance will be held at Christ Church Berkeley (formerly known as Grace North Church), 2138 Cedar St (near Oxford).
Music and singing workshops will be held at 1345 Martin Luther King (at Rose St).
Challenging Impropriety -- a dance workshop for experienced dancers
12:45-2:45 pm. $10.
If you are comfortable with all the basic ECD figures and
you learn dances quickly, you'll enjoy this
challenging class focusing on the more complicated dances from the Impropriety
Volumes as well as newer unpublished dances.
A Wittman Sampler -- a dance workshop for all dancers
3:30-5:30 pm. $10. Dance reconstructions by Carl Wittman (1943-1986) – learn some familiar dances with a reconstruction
you may not be used to and some reconstructions of unfamiliar or seldom
done dances.
Singing with Shira Kammen -- for all
12:45-2:45 pm. $10. Enjoy Shira's fun material, great teaching, and sense of humor as you learn rounds, ballads, and songs paired with ECD dances.
Impropriety Tunes with Dave Bartley -- a slow jam with style points added
3:30-5:30 pm. $10. Learn some of Dave's favorite tunes from the Impropriety volumes 1-3, as well as some from the soon to be published volume 4.
Berkeley Experienced Dance -- a dance party for experienced dancers
7:30-10:30 pm. $12 ($10 BACDS members). Dancers must be familiar with the basic ECD vocabulary. Primarily Impropriety material.

Sunday January 29 in Sebastopol
Impropriety for All -- a dance workshop for all levels
10:00 am-Noon. $10. Location: Sebastopol Community Center, 390 Morris St (on SW corner of building).
Have fun with a variety of our more accessible dances from the Impropriety
Volumes as well as newer unpublished dances. We'll spend some time on style and phrasing, exploring what makes these dances unique.
Impropriety Tunes with Anita Anderson -- a slow jam with style points added
10:00 am-Noon. $10. Location: 7272 Elphick Road, Sebastopol. Learn some of Anita's favorite tunes from the Impropriety volumes 1-3, as well as some from the soon to be published volume 4. These will be different tunes from those done at the Saturday workshop.
Potluch Lunch for as many as will
12:30-1:45 pm. Location: Wischemann Hall, 465 Morris St. Bring food and drinks to share, then stay for the afternoon dance.
Sebastopol Dance -- a dance party for all
2:00-4:30 pm. $12 ($10 NBCDS members). Location: Wischemann Hall, 465 Morris St. A wide range of material, including a few dances from Impropriety volumes.
